Surgical Tech, First Assist

We are looking to hire a Surgical Tech, First Assist As a Surg Tech First Assist, under limited supervision, provides care to patients of all ages experiencing surgical intervention.

Serves as an assistant to the surgeon in performing a safe operation with optimal outcomes for the patient. Practices directly under the supervision and direction of the surgeon, registered nurse, or physician assistant during the intra-operative phase of patient care. Demonstrates involvement in professional activities, through reading professional journals, participation in educational programs and meetings, and collegial interchange.

Schedule: Day Shift Full Time 1.0 FTE (40 hours a week) General Requirements: Requires completion of an accredited course in OR technology. Must have certification as a Surgical Technologist First Assistant through an accredited authority.

Requires a minimum of two years’ experience in operating room clinical practice with demonstrated proficiency in peri-operative practice as a scrub and first assistant. Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification is required unless a doctor’s release is provided, in which case yearly proficiency must be demonstrated through oral a written testing.
