Dietetic Technician (residential/institutional care)

The Dietetic Technician supports the delivery of nutrition services to patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Dietitian or other qualified healthcare professional.

Responsibilities include

assisting with nutrition screenings, gathering and documenting dietary information, providing basic nutrition education within scope of practice, monitoring patient needs, and communicating concerns to the appropriate member of the healthcare team.

Essential Duties

Assist with nutrition screenings and assessments. Gather and document patient dietary and nutrition information. Provide basic nutrition education and support within scope of practice. Monitor and report changes or concerns related to patient nutrition. Assist with care planning and interdisciplinary communication. Maintain accurate and timely documentation.

Follow applicable clinical, regulatory, and facility requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate degree or appropriate education in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field. Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR/NDTR) credential preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team. Previous healthcare or nutrition-related experience preferred.
