Director of Student Union

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Office of War Memorial Student Union invites applications for the position of Director of Student Union. This position oversees the operations and activities of the Student Union, which serves as the premier facility on Southeastern’s campus.

It serves students, faculty, staff, alumni and the surrounding community for dining, events and educational, cultural, social and recreational experiences. Based on scheduled events, this position may have responsibilities which include night, weekends and holidays. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree from an accredited university Three years of full-time, professional level experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree from an accredited university in Business, Student Affairs, Marketing, or a related field REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES Administrative and supervisory skills Effective communication skills, both written and oral Competencies in marketing, event planning, staff training and supervision, program development -and evaluation, and computer software/application, including scheduling software Demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility, and commitment to teamwork.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS Knowledge of the concept of a student union within a university setting Knowledge of facility management Ability to prioritize, organize, and independently manage multiple tasks simultaneously Proven ability to work well in a team environment Strong ability to assess information accurately, exercise good judgement, and make an independent decision Ability to communicate in a professional, diplomatic, empathetic, and tactful manner by phone, in writing, and in person Knowledge and use of audio/visual equipment Experience with budgets and revenue-producing functions Knowledge of sales, marketing and/or graphic design experience REQUIRED DOCUMENTS Cover Letter Resume/Vita Copies of Transcripts (official transcripts will be required if hired) Names and contact information for 3 references Posting Close Date November 3, 2026 Please Note: Applications must be completed and submitted by 11:59 p.
