Senior Engineer II, Industrialization PCBA and Product Test

Bangalore, Karnataka, IndiaPosted Oct 13, 2026

Job description

We are looking for a highly hands-on and technically strong Principal Product & Manufacturing Test Engineer / Test Architect to own the end-to-end test strategy for our next-generation Home Energy, Battery, and EV Charging products. This role sits at the intersection of Product Development, Firmware, Hardware, Quality, and Manufacturing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining what needs to be tested, how it should be tested, and ensuring robust test coverage from product development through mass production. Beyond developing test systems, this individual will be the technical authority for debugging complex product issues, performing root cause analysis, and driving product quality improvements.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable troubleshooting firmware logs, probing electronics on a bench, reviewing system architecture, and commissioning manufacturing test systems on a production line.

Key Responsibilities

Own End-to-End Product Test Strategy Define and maintain the overall test strategy throughout the product lifecycle. Establish test requirements for system, subsystem, firmware, hardware, safety, reliability, regulatory, and manufacturing validation. Ensure products are designed for testability (DFT) through close collaboration with Hardware, Firmware, Systems Engineering, and Quality teams.

Drive test coverage analysis and identify gaps before product launch. Define manufacturing test requirements and ensure seamless transition from R&D validation to production. Lead Test System Architecture & Development Define architecture and technical requirements for development, validation, and manufacturing test systems.

Lead development of automated test solutions internally and through external suppliers. Oversee test hardware, fixtures, software, instrumentation, and automation development. Develop and review test sequences, test scripts, diagnostics, and data collection systems. Commission, validate, and release production test systems for global manufacturing sites.

Ensure consistency of test methodologies across factories and manufacturing partners. Technical Product Expert & Debug Leader Develop deep expertise in product architecture, power electronics, embedded firmware, communication protocols, and system operation. Independently troubleshoot failures involving hardware, firmware, software, communication interfaces, manufacturing processes, and test equipment.

Lead technical investigations for issues found during development, pilot builds, production, and field operation. Distinguish product defects from manufacturing defects and tester-related issues. Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical problems requiring cross-functional root cause analysis. Failure Analysis & Continuous Improvement Lead structured root cause investigations using electrical measurements, protocol analysis, firmware logs, and statistical methods.

Establish robust failure analysis and corrective action processes. Define diagnostic procedures and repair instructions for manufacturing and service teams. Drive improvements in test coverage, manufacturing yield, product reliability, and customer quality. Monitor test metrics, first-pass yield, defect trends, and field-return data to prioritize improvements.

Manufacturing & Factory Support Support NPI builds, pilot production, and manufacturing ramp-up activities. Work closely with Contract Manufacturers and test equipment suppliers to implement and optimize production test solutions. Lead troubleshooting of manufacturing test systems and minimize production downtime. Ensure complete traceability of manufacturing test data through MES and database integration.

Support global factory deployment and scaling of test solutions. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, or a related technical discipline. Experience 8-14 years of experience in product testing, systems engineering, validation, manufacturing test, or related technical roles.

Proven experience developing and deploying test solutions for complex electronic or electromechanical products. Strong experience working with embedded firmware, power electronics, communication protocols, and manufacturing environments. Demonstrated success leading technical investigations and solving challenging system-level issues.

Technical Expertise Candidates should possess strong knowledge in several of the following areas: Product Technologies Power electronics AC/DC power conversion Battery systems EV charging systems Industrial electronics Embedded systems Test & Diagnostics Automated test development Design for Testability (DFT) Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Manufacturing and End-of-Line testing Statistical analysis and yield improvement Root cause analysis and failure investigation Hardware & Software Oscilloscopes Power analyzers Electronic loads Logic analyzers Protocol analyzers LabVIEW Test.
