System Administrator III

System Administrator 3 Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph Location: Fort George G Meade, Maryland Schedule: Full-time | On-site   Job Description: Our client is seeking a System Administrator 3 to manage mission-critical IT infrastructure supporting Department of Defense operations. This role requires hands-on management of Linux and Windows systems, virtual environments, and security compliance measures, ensuring high availability and performance.  

Key Responsibilities

Administer Linux and Windows-based systems Support patching, configuration, and performance tuning Troubleshoot hardware/software and resolve user issues Maintain virtual environments and backup solutions Ensure compliance with DoD STIG standards and security protocols

Education

& Experience Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience 5–10+ years of systems administration experience   Skills & Technical Knowledge Proficiency in Linux and Windows administration Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware and KVM Scripting experience in Bash and PowerShell Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and network protocols Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
