Emergency Department Technician

Summary Under the supervision of the Manager, assists with clinical and patient care activities in the Emergency Department. # Minimum Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. Must possess one of the following: Current certification to practice as a paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Current National Registry Certification as a paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

Completion of an approved medical assistant training program. Three years of equivalent clinical work experience. Completion of a nurse internship program in an Emergency care setting or 1 year experience as an Emergency Department Care Assistant and enrollment to begin final year of an accredited Nursing program. #Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Preferred Qualifications Two years of direct patient care experience.

Phlebotomy and electrocardiogram (EKG) experience. Emergency Department and/or pre-hospital care experience.
