Software Engineering Advisor - HIH - Evernorth

Senior Software Engineer Position Overview We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join an AI engineering team within our data warehousing organization . You'll build AI agents as well as the foundational tooling and context that enable agents to interact effectively with our data environment. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for an engineer who thrives on autonomy and enjoys shaping how AI is applied across a complex data landscape.

Responsibilities

Develop the tools and interfaces that enable agents to interact reliably with the data warehouse environment through clean, complete, and well-governed context. Design, build, and deploy AI agents that reason over enterprise data and automate meaningful workflows. Apply modern agentic patterns

• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) , system prompt design, tool/function calling, and multi-agent orchestration. Partner with data engineering teams to ensure agents are grounded in accurate, well-governed data. Communicate clearly with both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders and help drive best practices across the team.

Qualifications

6+ years of professional software engineering experience. Hands-on experience building AI agents or agentic applications. Strong working knowledge of core AI/LLM concepts: RAG, system prompts, AI tools/function calling, MCP, and A2A . Demonstrated ability to work independently and self-directed , taking ownership of ambiguous problems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills . Required Experience & Education: 6+ years of professional software engineering experience. Hands-on experience building AI agents or agentic applications. Strong working knowledge of core AI/LLM concepts: RAG, system prompts, AI tools/function calling, MCP, and A2A .

Demonstrated ability to work independently and self-directed , taking ownership of ambiguous problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills .

Nice to Have

Experience with ETL / data pipelines - a significant plus given our data warehousing environment. Hands-on AWS experience. Background working within or alongside large-scale data platforms and governance frameworks.
