About the Role

The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards of our retail food service environment in Wilmette, IL. This position ensures that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to support smooth daily operations and uphold health and safety regulations.

The Dishwasher works closely with kitchen and service staff to manage the flow of clean items, contributing to an efficient and organized workspace. Attention to detail and a commitment to hygiene are essential to prevent contamination and provide a safe environment for both employees and customers. Ultimately, this role supports the overall customer experience by enabling timely food preparation and service through effective dishwashing and kitchen maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment. Basic understanding of sanitation and hygiene practices in a food service setting. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

No prior experience required; on-the-job training will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a dishwashing or kitchen support role within the retail or food service industry. Familiarity with commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning chemicals. Basic knowledge of workplace safety standards and procedures. Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently. Good communication skills to coordinate with kitchen and service staff.

Responsibilities

Operate dishwashing machines and manually wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure cleanliness and sanitation. Sort and organize clean dishes and kitchen tools, returning them to their designated storage areas promptly. Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, and floors, to comply with health and safety standards.

Assist kitchen staff with basic cleaning tasks and waste disposal to support overall kitchen operations. Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to management to ensure continuous workflow. Dishwasher Benefits:
