Job description
Pipe Welder Apache Workforce is hiring experienced Pipe Welders for a manufacturing facility in Houston, TX. Pay: $27.00–$33.00 per hour, depending on experience Shifts: Day and Night Shifts Available Night Shift Differential: Additional 10% Job Summary The Pipe Welder will weld pipe and related components according to drawings, welding procedures, and quality requirements.
Candidates should have experience with TIG and MIG/Flux Core welding and be comfortable working in an industrial fabrication environment. A 6G mig root flux fill and cap welding test is required before placement.
Responsibilities
Weld pipe and related components using TIG, MIG, and Flux Core processes. Set up welding equipment and adjust machine settings as needed. Read and follow blueprints, P&IDs, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings. Select the appropriate filler metal and welding materials for the job. Check completed welds for quality and proper appearance.
Use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions. Complete required production or quality documentation. Perform basic inspections and maintenance of welding equipment. Assist with material identification and inventory activities when needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Perform other welding and fabrication duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience with GTAW (TIG) and GMAW/FCAW (MIG/Flux Core). Ability to pass a 6G welding test. Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings. Knowledge of pipe materials, schedules, and welding processes. Ability to use basic measuring tools and gauges. Good attention to detail and ability to follow welding procedures.
Ability to work independently and with a team. Basic math and measurement skills. High school diploma or GED preferred. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Work is performed in an industrial manufacturing/fabrication shop. Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods. Frequent bending, reaching, and movement throughout the shift.
Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. Ability to work extended shifts and overtime as needed. Work may be performed in a non-air-conditioned facility. Safety glasses and other required PPE must be worn. Steel-toe boots are required.
