This role, reporting to the Quality Coordinator forms part of our high performing Manufacturing team. You will play a key role in the evaluation and testing of raw materials to be used in the manufacture of conveyor belts as well as examination & testing of belts to ensure the quality compliance, prior to release to the customer.
Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the conveyor belt testing laboratory, ensuring all tests are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures and industry standards. Physical testing of belt samples, fabrics and fibres - testing and comparison of results with standards to create belt certificates.
Schedule and prioritize testing activities to meet client requirements as per the schedule provided by the planning team. Maintain laboratory procedures, test methods & quality control protocols defined as per the Australian and ISO standards. Manage all the measuring equipment calibration activities in the laboratory.
Identify and troubleshooting issues related to testing procedures or equipment, implementing corrective actions as needed. We are looking for a team player who is self-driven and possesses the following skills and experience: Competent to advanced level knowledge of relevant Australian Standards for test methods Previous experience working in a material testing laboratory Experience in manufacturing or heavy engineering environment (desirable) Basic knowledge of quality controls for testing processes Experience working with a quality management system /structure Self-managed, energetic, and driven individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment A mechanical mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task Flexibility to work overtime if required Unlimited working rights in Australia Joining Fenner Conveyors means becoming part of an organisation that values its people and supports them to reach their full potential.
