Senior Technical Analyst (Laboratory Data Acquisition & Infrastructure)
Job description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Analyst to join the Research Infrastructure Product Line – Data Movement & Storage Product Team. In this role, you will support the deployment, validation, and operational management of laboratory instrument data acquisition platforms used across pharmaceutical R&D environments.
You will work closely with technical leads, infrastructure teams, laboratory scientists, and application owners to ensure laboratory systems are deployed, validated, and supported in compliance with GxP standards while enabling reliable data acquisition for research activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong laboratory informatics, chromatography systems, cloud infrastructure, and validation experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities
Support the technical design of laboratory instrument data acquisition software architecture. Configure and manage on-premises and AWS cloud infrastructure required for laboratory software deployments. Act as the primary technical contact for operational support teams and laboratory users. Troubleshoot laboratory instrument connectivity, software integrations, and infrastructure-related issues.
Coordinate deployment activities with multiple global MSD teams to ensure successful delivery according to migration plans. Author, execute, and maintain SDLC documentation, validation documents, and technical test scripts. Support software configuration, build, validation, release management, and post-production operations.
Participate in project meetings with technical and business stakeholders. Develop IQ/OQ documentation and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Deliver technical documentation, user guides, and training sessions for laboratory users and support teams. Supervise and coordinate small technical teams where required.
Requirements
Laboratory Informatics 3+ years supporting laboratory instrument data acquisition software within pharmaceutical R&D. Strong experience with chromatography data systems (CDS) supporting 50+ instruments and users. Experience troubleshooting instrument-to-software connectivity. Good understanding of laboratory workflows in both GxP and non-GxP environments.
Infrastructure & Cloud Hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies and AWS cloud services. Experience configuring infrastructure for laboratory software platforms. Understanding of hybrid on-premises/cloud environments. Validation & Compliance Experience working in regulated pharmaceutical environments. Strong knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Experience creating and executing: IQ (Installation Qualification) OQ (Operational Qualification) Validation documentation Test scripts Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Leadership & Communication Experience leading or mentoring small technical teams. Strong communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
Ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly. Experience producing technical documentation and delivering end-user training.
