Job description
About Rockefeller Capital Management Rockefeller Capital Management was established in 2018 as a leading independent financial advisory services firm. Originally founded in 1882 as the family office of John D. Rockefeller, the Firm has evolved to offer strategic advice to ultra- and high-net-worth individuals and families, institutions, and corporations from offices in 35 markets throughout the United States, as well as an office in London.
The Firm oversees $237 billion in client assets as of August 31, 2026. Position As a Project Manager, you will lead the firm’s data access and protection initiatives alongside a broader portfolio of technology and operations projects. You will drive delivery across data masking, access governance, and data loss prevention, partnering with Technology, Information Security, Legal, Compliance, and business teams to safeguard sensitive client and firm data while enabling the business.
Responsibilities
Data protection programs — Lead end-to-end delivery of data protection initiatives, including PII data masking, data classification, encryption, and data loss prevention (DLP) programs, aligned with firm risk and regulatory priorities. Access governance — Manage initiatives that strengthen role-based access, entitlement management, periodic access reviews, and privileged access, ensuring least-privilege principles are applied across applications and data stores.
Masking roadmap and sequencing — Coordinate PII inventories across APIs and applications, prioritize masking by data sensitivity, sequence delivery waves, and define the testing scope required after each release. Cross-functional partnership — Partner with Technology, Information Security, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and business owners to define scope, objectives, and success metrics; build project charters and plans.
Delivery and risk management — Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, and resources; facilitate working sessions and steering committees; escalate blockers early with clear options.
Requirements
and audit readiness — Gather and document business requirements and user stories; maintain evidence and documentation to support internal audit, regulatory examination, and policy attestations. Testing and deployment — Oversee testing readiness, including parallel testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) in non-production environments, and coordinate go-live and production release activities.
Status reporting — Track project health, milestones, and committed delivery dates in the project tracker; deliver concise, accurate status updates and executive-level reporting to senior leadership. Broader portfolio — Manage a portfolio of additional technology and operations projects in parallel, balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
Change management — Champion change management, communication, and governance throughout the project lifecycle; identify opportunities to streamline processes using data and analysis.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of project or program management experience in financial services, ideally within wealth management, asset management, or operations (7+ years preferred). Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-stakeholder, cross-functional projects from initiation through completion. Working knowledge of data protection and security concepts such as data masking, PII handling, data classification, encryption, DLP, identity and access management, and role-based access control.
Experience supporting testing and release cycles (UAT, parallel testing, change management) for application, API, or data platform changes. Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies, including Azure DevOps and both Agile and Waterfall approaches. Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills, with the ability to influence across organizational boundaries.
Ability to synthesize complex technical and operational information into clear, actionable plans. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of AI-driven tools and data integration methodologies is advantageous. Relevant certifications (PMP, CISSP, CIPP, CDMP, or similar) are a plus.
Compensation
