• Lodi, CA, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $25.00 - $40.00Hourly, Travel Percentage: Road Warrior, Job Shift: Any, A Welder/Fitter is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components based on technical specifications and blueprints. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and adherence to safety standards to ensure the quality and durability of the final product.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication & Welding Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine project requirements. Use various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-Cored Arc Welding to join, repair, or fabricate metal parts. Fit and assemble metal components to meet specified tolerances and alignments.

Metal Preparation & Cutting Cut, bend, and shape metal using tools such as grinders, plasma cutters, and torches. Prepare surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and positioning materials. Quality Assurance Inspect finished welds and fabrications for accuracy, strength, and quality. Perform necessary adjustments or rework to ensure compliance with specifications.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance Operate welding machines, hand tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently. Perform routine maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure optimal performance. Safety & Compliance Adhere to workplace safety standards, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). Follow company and industry regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Collaboration & Reporting Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to ensure project timelines and specifications are met. Document work progress and report any issues or discrepancies to management. g., AWS Certified Welder) preferred. Technical training or apprenticeship in welding or metal fabrication is a plus. Experience 1–3 years of welding and fitting experience, depending on the complexity of the role. Experience working in manufacturing, construction, or similar industries. Technical Skills Proficiency in welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.)

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents. Familiarity with metal fabrication tools and equipment. Strong understanding of material properties and welding procedures. Soft Skills Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Effective communication and teamwork skills. Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks in various environments (e.g., confined spaces, outdoor worksites). Work Environment Involves working in manufacturing facilities, construction sites, and outdoor environments. Exposure to heat, noise, fumes, and heavy machinery is common.
