Educational Technician I, II, III � Resource Room Lewiston Public Schools Job Title Educational Technician I, II, III Reports To Classroom Teacher (daily direction); Building Principal (supervision) Approved By J. Langlais, Superintendent Effective Date 10/2/2026 Status Full-time, hourly Pay Range $19.30 - $26.50 per hour Position Summary The Educational Technician I, II, or III assists the classroom teacher with general daily classroom activities.
This includes small-group instruction, classroom management, materials preparation, and routine clerical tasks, all carried out under the teacher's direction. Essential Requirement: Availability The employee must be available and able to work five (5) days per week, Monday through Friday, according to the Lewiston Public Schools schedule.
This is an essential function of the position, not a preference. Students and teachers depend on consistent classroom support. Regular, predictable attendance on every scheduled school day is therefore required, along with any required professional development days on the district calendar.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned. Assist with small-group instruction and tutor students at the teacher's request. Assist the teacher in maintaining discipline and with other classroom functions. Help set up the classroom and prepare materials for specialized instructional units. Handle attendance reports and related clerical tasks with the teacher.
Help assemble and hang bulletin board materials and keep displays current. Operate standard school equipment, such as computers, laminators, copiers, and audiovisual equipment. Escort students to and from classrooms and other areas as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities None. The Ed Tech II carries out instructions in the classroom under the teacher's direction.

Education
and/or experience High School Diploma (I), 60 college credits completed (II), or 90 college credits completed (III), and certification as an Educational Technician with the State of Maine Department of Education Available and able to work 5 days per week per the Lewiston Public Schools schedule Language skills Read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Write simple correspondence. Present information effectively one-on-one and in small groups to students, staff, and families. Mathematical skills Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning ability Apply common sense to carry out detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions. Handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations. Other skills and abilities Build effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Perform duties in line with all district requirements and School Committee policies.
Compensation
and Benefits Hourly pay ranges from $19.30 to $26.50.
