Maintenance Technician

TITLE: Maintenance Technician MDE Code: 751027 Responsible for doing maintenance on buildings and equipment in the district.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. 1+ years of maintenance experience preferred
2. Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and heating systems
3. Skilled with a variety of hand and power tools
4. Ability to prepare and follow verbal and written instructions
5. Must pass a background check and drug test
6. Must have a valid Mississippi driver’s license REPORTS TO: Facility Director JOB GOAL: To insure that all facilities meet the highest standards that ensure health, safety, and efficiency in operation for the students and personnel that these facilities serve TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, including, but not limited to:
7. Perform routine maintenance to ensure everything is in working order
8. Perform light carpentry and basic plumbing repairs
9. Perform painting, pressure washing, and grounds keeping work as needed
10. Responsible for moving furniture, equipment, and supplies
11. Responsible for proper use and care of all tools, equipment and vehicles
12. Exercise proper safety precautions and follow all codes and regulations
13. Perform other duties as assigned TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve (12) months EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the evaluation procedures for non-certified employees. This employee shall be subject to all applicable policies, resolutions, and regulations of the Hancock County School District and the laws of the State of Mississippi.
