Mobile Vehicle Technician
Job description
£38,000 to £45,000 + overtime + paid door to door + discretionary company bonus + on-call pay + company van and fuel card Your van. Your East London patch. Fixed first time. Keep the fleet vans and light commercial vehicles around East London safe, legal and on the road, working from a fully stocked van with the vehicle's history in your hand before you arrive.

Around 95% of our work is done on site, and we empower our engineers to fix first time, with an eight bay workshop, a planning team and our partner suppliers behind them.
What you'll work on Fleet vans and light commercial vehicles for utility and public sector customers Tail lifts A typical day First thing: check your schedule and van stock, then head to your first site, arriving between 7am and 8am. Through the day: planned services, safety inspections and compliance checks on customer fleets, finding and fixing faults on site.
When it's needed: breakdowns and urgent repairs, and collecting parts when a job needs them. End of the day: finish your job reports on your tablet.
What you'll do
Service, inspect and repair fleet vans and light commercial vehicles on customer sites in and around East London Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults with modern diagnostic equipment and fix them first time wherever you can Carry out vehicle safety and compliance checks Service and repair tail lifts Log every job on a tablet (photos, hours and parts used), close the job, raise follow-on repairs and talk directly to our service controllers What you'll need A Level 2 or Level 3 light vehicle qualification (IMI, City & Guilds or similar), or equivalent experience Your own hand tools (we supply specialist tools and diagnostics) A full UK driving licence Happy working on your own, out on site Nice to have Mobile or roadside experience Fleet or LCV dealer experience Tail lift servicing and repair experience EV qualification (IMI Level 2 or above) Where it can lead You can progress from technician to senior technician and supervisor, with cross-training into other disciplines.
Hours Full time, Monday to Friday: 45 hours a week, plus 2.5 hours of paid meal breaks across the week. You are paid door to door, from when you leave home. What you get £38,000 to £45,000 a year, plus overtime and enhanced overtime Discretionary performance bonus: paid quarterly, based on company targets £200 a week when you are on the on-call rota, plus enhanced overtime and call-out payments Company van no more than four years old, designed by our engineers and fitted with the major tools, diagnostics and parts for the job, plus a company fuel card (business use only) 20 days' holiday plus bank holidays Company pension Two paid staff events a year and monthly recognition vouchers £2,000 for every engineer you refer who we hire Ex-Forces and career changers with the right mechanical skills are welcome.
