Job description
Our client is seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join the Port Elizabeth team, Maintain and repair fixed plant equipment including conveyors, chutes, hoppers, silos, crushers, screens, handrails, tanks etc Maintain and repair mobile and transport equipment including truck bodies, trailers, skip bins, tippers, loading & excavator buckets, earthmoving & material handling attachments, waste containers etc Manufacture components from engineering drawings such as structural steel, brackets, frames, guards, supports and platforms MIG and stick welding Cutting and grinding Ensure weld quality meets company and engineering standards Conduct routine inspections.
Identify defects before failures occur. Report equipment deterioration. Replace worn components. Lubricate where required. Assist with planned maintenance shutdowns. Complete preventative maintenance schedules. Respond to equipment failures Ensure compliance with safety standards Maintain workshop cleanliness and equipment storage Tool control Complete job cads, maintenance reports, timesheets etc Requirements Grade 12 Boilermaker Trade Test (Red Seal) Valid driver's license (Code B minimum) Minimum 3-5 years post-trade experience in: Steel manufacturing, Engineering, Plant maintenance, and Workshop fabrication Experience on mobile equipment is essential.
Welding certification preferred Working at Heights certification preferred Confined Space certification preferred Forklift license preferred Perform standby duties when needed
