Job description

About Us

Unity. Loyalty. Advancement. Charity. It’s what drives United Legwear & Apparel Co. to be the best global designer, manufacturer, and distributor of legwear, bodywear, apparel, and accessories. Founded in 1998 by Isaac E. Ash to make the very best legwear on the market, ULAC is an industry leader offering a full range of products for babies, kids, teens, and adults.

We strive to sell our products at affordable prices for families. Hard work and exponential growth year on year has transformed ULAC into a global apparel and accessories company.

About the Job

The Wholesale Operations Specialist owns season readiness and execution for an assigned group of wholesale accounts, as well as off-price and in-season orders. This role brings Sales, Planning, Production, and DC leadership together to keep each account and season on a clear, actionable plan — answering questions like:

  • Are all buys set up correctly in the system, and have all required EDI transactions been received?
  • When are goods expected to arrive, and when do they need to ship?
  • Does anything need repacking or extra handling at the warehouse?
  • Will the product arrive floor-ready and prepared for shipment? No single function can answer all of these alone — that's why this role exists. The Wholesale Operations Specialist maintains the full operational picture across accounts, closes gaps between Sales, Planning, Production, Customer Service, and DC operations before they cause missed ship windows, chargebacks, shortages, or cancellations, and drives issues to resolution rather than just flagging them.

What You Will Do

Manage the end-to-end sales order process for major national retail accounts in a high-volume, high-SKU wholesale apparel/accessories environment. Lead cross-functional alignment meetings with Sales, Planning, Production, and DC management — set the agenda, drive decisions, and own follow-through. Reconcile buyer commitments, assortment plans, and fixed buy quantities against date alignment, fill rate, and DC rework needs.

Reconcile customer transmissions against how inventory is owned: packing method, case/inner quantity, and attributes such as folded, hanging, or pre-ticketed. Compare demand to incoming production to confirm on-time arrival — flagging goods arriving too early with the same urgency as goods arriving late — and root-cause any demand not covered by production or on-hand inventory.

Resolve buyer and sales inquiries on order status and exceptions, including routing status, ship window extensions, short/over shipments, ticketing or packing issues, and EDI errors. Oversee unshipped orders, inventory allocation, and pick ticket generation and release to the Distribution Center. Monitor open picks to ensure timely routing and on-time shipping per retailer requirements.

Present weekly, monthly, and quarterly order status reports to the sales team. What You Bring: 5+ years in wholesale apparel or consumer goods operations, managing orders for major national retail accounts (e.g., Dick's Sporting Goods, Target, TJ Maxx, Burlington, department stores). Working fluency across three areas: ERP order/inventory configuration (Exenta or comparable); production and WIP timelines; DC or 3PL execution.

Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas) — reconciling multi-thousand-line reports from multiple sources is routine here, not a special project. Major retail account experience: routing guides, packing specifications, label/ticketing requirements, and chargeback exposure and resolution. Customer-focused mindset with strong organizational and time-management skills.

Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-change environment, with strong cross-functional and cross-company communication. Analytical, resolution-focused, and detail-oriented, with root-cause analysis and solution implementation experience.
