A Snapshot of Your Day. To support Siemens Energy's strategic growth and safeguard value in Japan's increasingly complex market, a dedicated in-country Tax Manager is required to manage local tax complexities and support four business areas, including a major Wind Power growth pipeline. This role operates within the Asia Pacific Taxes division to deliver timely, commercially focused tax advisory.

To address business aims, this role focuses on proactive tax business partnering for bids and projects, robust local tax compliance and governance, and efficient tax audit readiness and risk management. These areas ensure that tax risks are mitigated while actively enabling strategic commercial growth across all local business units.

Given the focus on these core areas, the ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Japanese corporate tax law, a proven track record of business partnering in global multinational structures, and professional tax qualifications. Strong bilingual communication skills in Japanese and English are essential to bridge local operations and global tax functions.

How You’ll Make an Impact40% Tax Business Partnering & Advisory. Provide early-stage tax advisory and structuring input for bids, project structures, contracts, supply chains, and execution models. Maintain on-site relationships with the business areas and key corporate functions to identify tax issues early and deliver practical commercial solutions.

Collaborate with APAC Tax and global tax functions to align local business initiatives with regional and global tax strategies. Special tax project support, e.g. restructuring, M&A, tax digitization and etc30% Tax Compliance & Governance. Establish clear ownership of local corporate tax compliance, reporting, and internal tax controls in accordance with Japanese regulations and global policies.

Manage and review local tax filings, transfer pricing documentation, and other specialized local tax administrative requirements to minimize penalties and disputes. Optimize external advisory spending by handling routine and operational tax matters internally, utilizing external advisers only for highly specialized issues.

To oversee monthly/quarterly tax reports required by HQ or AP region. Governance all type of tax matters operated by HR, EHS30% Tax Audit & Risk Management. Proactively identify local tax exposures, develop risk mitigation strategies, and maintain robust supporting documentation for audit readiness.Coordinate and manage tax audits and inquiries from Japanese tax authorities, serving as the primary point of contact alongside external advisers.

What You Bring. Certifications. Tax/accounting certification is preferred. Education. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, or a related discipline.Deep understanding of Japanese tax regulations and experience dealing with Japanese tax authorities. Minimum 10 years of experience in providing advice on tax matters.

Big 4 experience or large multinational experience desirable. Skills. Tax Expertise & Regulations. Japanese Corporate Tax Law. International Tax & Transfer Pricing. Consumption Tax (JCT) & Local Taxes. Other tax type of taxes if relevant. Business Partnering advisory. Tax Structuring & Contract Review. Financial Modeling & Bid Support.

Stakeholder Management. Strong analytical skills and able to understand complex business transactions. Working experience in multinational companies with diverse range of product and services is desirable. Risk&Compliance. Tax Audit Management. Internal Tax Controls & Governance. Able to identify potential risks and suggest possible solutions or mitigating factors.
