Deli Associate

Position Summary

The Deli Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service while preparing, packaging, and stocking deli products. This role ensures food safety compliance, maintains a clean and organized work area, and supports the deli team in meeting production and sales goals.

Key Responsibilities

Greet customers promptly and courteously. Assist with product selection and answer questions about ingredients, preparation, and specials. Food Preparation & Handling: Prepare sandwiches, salads, and hot deli items according to company recipes and standards. Slice meats and cheeses using proper safety techniques. Follow portion control guidelines to minimize waste.

Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handwashing and glove use. Monitor product temperatures and maintain logs as required. Stocking & Merchandising: Rotate stock to ensure freshness and reduce shrink. Maintain attractive displays and signage for deli products. Cleaning & Maintenance: Keep workstations, equipment, and floors clean and sanitized throughout the shift.

Assist with closing duties, including cleaning slicers, counters, and fryers.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous deli or food service experience is a plus. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Strong communication and customer service skills. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods. Work Environment: Fast-paced convenience store setting.

Interaction with customers, deli staff, and store management. Exposure to food prep and refrigerated areas.
