Orientation and Mobility Specialist

Job Title: Orientation and Mobility Specialist Pay Range: $45-55/hour Job Description: School-Based Orientation & Mobility Specialist | Tumwater, WA | Part-Time Hello, O&M Specialists! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a part-time Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist to support students with visual impairments in Tumwater Washington .

Position Details Location: Tumwater, WA Schedule: 2 days per week In-person, school-based role Provide evaluations, direct instruction, and consultation for students with visual impairments Responsibilities Conduct O&M evaluations and identify students’ short- and long-term needs.

Teach students to travel safely and confidently in familiar and unfamiliar environments while building independence. Collaborate with teachers of students with visual impairments on functional vision assessments related to travel. Provide instruction and support aligned with each student’s IEP. Consult with families, teachers, school staff, and peers on strategies that support student independence and safety.

Monitor progress and maintain evaluation reports, IEP documentation, progress notes, and other required records. Provide training to school staff and families on students’ O&M needs. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary school team.

Requirements
