About the Role

The Aerospace Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that aerospace products and components meet stringent quality and safety standards throughout the entire manufacturing and development process. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance protocols that comply with industry regulations and customer requirements.

The engineer will collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to identify potential quality issues early and drive continuous improvement initiatives. By analyzing data and conducting thorough inspections and audits, the Aerospace Quality Engineer helps to mitigate risks and enhance product reliability and performance.

Ultimately, this role ensures that aerospace systems are delivered with the highest level of quality, safety, and compliance, supporting the company’s reputation and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality engineering within the aerospace industry. Strong knowledge of aerospace quality standards such as AS9100, FAA regulations, and NADCAP requirements. Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and tools such as FMEA, SPC, and root cause analysis.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent certification. Experience with supplier quality management and audits. Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes including composites, machining, and assembly. Knowledge of statistical software and data analysis tools. Experience working with regulatory agencies and managing compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures in accordance with aerospace industry standards such as AS9100 and FAA regulations. Conduct root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence. Perform regular audits and inspections of manufacturing processes, suppliers, and final products to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and supply chain to address quality concerns and support product development. Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, drive continuous improvement, and report findings to management and stakeholders. Skills: The Aerospace Quality Engineer utilizes their technical expertise and analytical skills daily to evaluate product quality and process effectiveness.

Strong problem-solving abilities enable the engineer to identify root causes of defects and implement corrective actions efficiently. Communication skills are essential for collaborating with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure quality standards are understood and met. Familiarity with quality management systems and industry standards guides the engineer in developing robust quality assurance protocols and conducting thorough audits.

Additionally, proficiency in data analysis tools supports continuous improvement efforts by enabling the engineer to track quality trends and measure the impact of implemented solutions.
