As a key member of the Eau Resort & Spa team, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional service to our guests, upholding the standards of our Forbes Five Star resort.

Role Summary

The Sushi Prep Cook will be responsible for the preparation of all sushi bar entrees and side items requiring sushi nigiri and rolls, sashimi. This role will be knowledgeable of all sushi bar stations and responsible sushi preparation procedures. Additional responsibilities include facilitating all sushi (including sushi rolls) and sashimi, cold dish preparation of the sushi bar requiring various cooking methods, knife skills and organizing/procuring of ingredients for the restaurant.

This role is a flexible position (AM / PM), and all candidates must be able to work weekends, holidays, and nights. The role is designated for our Nobu Manalapan Culinary department.

Essential Qualifications: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate. Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship. At least 2 years sushi bar working experience in high-volume cooking. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management to ensure mutual understanding.

Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to provide legible communication. Essential Skills: Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy. Ability to prioritize, organize, delegate work, and follow through. Ability to be a clear thinker, remain calm, and resolve problems using good judgment.

Ability to work well under pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines for guests’ orders. Ability to maintain good coordination. Ability to comprehend, follow, expand and condense recipes. Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision. Ability to work a 10-12-hour shift in hot, noisy and sometimes close conditions.
