Description Fairhaven is looking for an experienced Cook to join our Food Services team! Full-Time 37.5 hours per week 5:30 AM - 1:30 PM Weekdays and weekends Part-Time 15 to 20 hours per week 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM Weekdays and weekends Pay: $17.30 - $18.75 per hour What You'll Do Prepare and serve meals following menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.

Ensure food is ready and served on time. Follow therapeutic diet requirements when preparing meals. Check and record food and storage temperatures. Keep the kitchen, equipment, and work areas clean and sanitized. Manage food substitutions, supplements, and leftover food appropriately. Maintain attractive food presentation.

Provide friendly service and help create a welcoming, home-like environment for residents. Protect resident privacy and follow HIPAA guidelines. Follow all safety, sanitation, infection control, and Fairhaven policies.

Qualifications

Ability to perform kitchen duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for an entire shift, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Ability to read instructions and communicate effectively in English. Comfortable working in a Christian retirement community. Preferred Experience At least one year of cooking experience in a restaurant, nursing home, or institutional setting.

Food service sanitation certification or course completion. Work Environment Kitchen and dining room settings. Regular exposure to hot equipment, steam, and hot water. Typical healthcare environment serving older adults.
