Assembly/Soldering Technician

This is a full-time, on-site position. Successful candidates will be asked to demonstrate their soldering abilities in the interview process.
Essential Functions
Perform and assist in research and development of new components, assemblies, and processes as a member of the Product Development Team. Support engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype medical devices, process development activities, electrical circuitry, and test equipment.
Responsible for compliance with quality system procedures and all regulatory requirements. Participates in onsite manufacturing prototyping/re-work/test of electronic medical equipment used for diagnostic or treatment purposes. Competencies Required: Intermediate to advanced skills in assembly, test, and troubleshooting Required: Intermediate to advanced skills in microelectronic soldering and rework, preferably in rework of HDI circuits and micro soldering under a microscope.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment Experience working with manufacturing equipment including PM, calibration, and setup. Medical device assembly a plus Experience working within an ISO or FDA-type design control environment. Working knowledge of machine shop practices and operations. Note: applicants may be asked to demonstrate their soldering skills during the interview process Required Education and Experience Minimum of 3 years of related technical experience; technical training, degree and/or certification(s); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Intermediate to advanced soldering skills required Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment and in a laboratory environment. The position requires using soldering equipment, microscopes, and laser, for which appropriate training will be provided. It also routinely uses standard office equipment (computers, etc.)
Physical Demands Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
