Job description
Qualifications
a. High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred b. Valid Maine educational technician certification c. Satisfactory completion of an approved First Aid/CPR course within the last 2 years d. Ability to communicate well with students, parents and staff e. Ability to relate sensitively to a wide variety of people Reports to: Assistant Superintendent Job Goal: To provide first aid and perform tasks related to the implementation of School Health Services.
Essential Functions
Provide basic first aid and CPR, as needed, and document all first aid rendered Administer medications to students following district procedures Assist with school health screenings Provide specific health care procedures, upon training Report problems of an immediate or emergency nature to the building administrator and school nurse or contact emergency services Maintain ongoing communication with district nurse in regards to students with specific health concerns Maintain confidentiality about all aspects of student and personnel written and oral records Demonstrate respect for the legal and human rights of students and staff Follow health and safety procedures established by the District Arrive and depart punctually, notifying appropriate personnel about absences and coverage Demonstrate dependability, integrity, and other ethical standards Perform other responsibilities as assigned
