Mission Manager
$140k to $200k
Job description
About Rune Rune Technologies builds mission-critical software for military logistics and sustainment. Our flagship product is TyrOS, an AI-enabled logistics command and control platform that gives commanders a single, real-time operating picture of their sustainment fight, from inventory and distribution to medical and operational planning, even in degraded and contested environments.
We're not a traditional defense contractor. We're a small, fast-moving team that combines deep operational experience in and with the DoD with the software discipline of the best product companies, and we apply that combination to a customer set that desperately needs it. We stay close to our users by embedding directly with military units during exercises and rotations, and we ship constantly based on what we learn.
The U.S. military and its allies face a real logistics modernization problem. We're building the software to solve it.
About the Role
Our mission managers are the linchpin connecting our innovative engineering and product teams with our military partners as we execute contracted work. If you excel at building deep, trust-based relationships, translating complex operational needs into actionable product and program strategies, and thriving in high-ownership customer-facing roles, then you’re the ideal candidate for our mission manager team.
In this role, you’ll ensure our solutions meet the rigorous demands of modern military logistics – driving success from the remote tactical edge to the highest levels of command. What You’ll Do
- Work side-by-side with our customers to understand their unique challenges and represent the customer as you work with the Rune engineering team to shape product development.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Rune engineering, product, business development and executive teams to ensure each team is engaged and working towards customer success.
- Be comfortable that no two weeks in the life of a Mission Manager will be the same; be a do-er who wants to understand customer problems and highly technical solutions to those problems.
- Support deployment of Rune software for testing, evaluation and operational use at government facilities and military bases.
- Lead training sessions to ensure Rune’s product meets user needs, and to ensure it is being used to have a concrete impact on our customers’ operations.
- Identify relevant datasets through deep engagement with customer problems and workflows, and work with Rune engineers to integrate this data into product delivery.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience serving in the US military in logistics or sustainment roles preferred
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, team members, and senior leadership
- Ability to work effectively with cross-disciplinary teams, including engineering, product, operations and growth
- Willingness to travel 25-50% to support program objectives and customer engagements
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. secret security clearance Benefits Rune offers top-tier benefits for full-time employees to include a full suite of insurance options at no cost for employees and low-cost to spouses and dependents.
