About the Role
The Mental Health Technician at Wagoner Community Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting the mental health care team and ensuring the well-being of patients. BLS Responsibilities: Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational activities. Monitor and document patient behavior, mood, and progress, reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
Implement treatment plans as directed by mental health professionals, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Engage patients in therapeutic activities and provide emotional support to encourage participation in their treatment. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Skills: The required skills for this position include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, which are essential for building rapport with patients and effectively conveying observations to the healthcare team. Empathy and patience are critical in providing compassionate care and understanding the unique challenges faced by individuals with mental health issues.
