Join us and be part of a team where innovation meets craft and your work makes a difference. 🛠️ The Opportunity As a Logistics Associate , you’ll play an essential role in supporting the daily operations of our Distribution Center in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Reporting to the Logistics Manager / Distribution Center Supervisor, this position combines administrative coordination with hands-on warehouse responsibilities.
You'll support shipping and receiving operations, maintain accurate inventory and shipment records, prepare essential documentation, and help ensure products move efficiently and accurately through our distribution process. With approximately 50% of your time spent in the office and 50% on the warehouse floor, this role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.

Meaningful Impact: Help ensure accurate, timely shipments and a positive customer experience. 🔧 What You’ll Do Shipping, Receiving & Documentation
- Enter purchase order receipts and generate labels and other required documentation.
- Partner with Purchasing and Receiving personnel to resolve discrepancies involving purchase order items, quantities, and identification numbers.
- Process small parcel shipments using web-based shipping programs, including preparing shipping labels, attaching required documentation, and generating end-of-day paperwork.
- Generate bills of lading, packing lists, and other shipping documents using EIS’s ERP system and/or carrier web-based systems.
- Schedule pickups with appropriate carriers.
- Process shipments in EIS’s ERP system for invoicing, including issuing materials, closing work orders, and completing customer shipment entries.
- Maintain and file shipping and receiving documentation.
- Track shipments as requested.
- File, manage, and track freight claims from initiation through resolution. Inventory Management & Order Accuracy
- Set up inventory locations as requested.
- Perform cycle counts to support inventory accuracy.
- Conduct quality and quantity checks on outgoing orders to ensure shipments are complete, accurate, and undamaged.
- Mark products with identification numbers in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Perform accurate inventory transfers using handheld scanners and product identification labels.
- Complete required documentation and consistently follow established procedures for issuing stock materials. Warehouse Operations & Material Handling
- Use measuring tools, including tape measures, to support packaging and shipping processes.
- Package goods for small parcel and common carrier shipments, ensuring all required paperwork is included.
- Safely operate power tools to pack, crate, or blanket-wrap materials for shipment according to order picklists.
- Assist Receiving with unloading incoming products using forklifts or pallet jacks as requested.
- Assist Shipping with loading less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments using forklifts or pallet jacks as requested.
- Move products into and out of warehouse racking using a forklift. Safety & Operational Standards
- Follow all company safety policies, work rules, and established operating procedures.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards and an organized work environment.
- Use required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and safety shoes, in designated areas. ✅ What You Bring to the Team Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two to four years of related experience in shipping, distribution, or warehouse operations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification. Training is provided. Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of computers and data processing systems.
- Knowledge of shipping documentation requirements for domestic and international transportation.
- Understanding of freight terms, National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC), carrier service areas, and available transportation services.
- Ability to prepare forms, reports, and routine correspondence.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping reports, bills of lading, invoices, picklists, and related documents.
- Ability to use measuring tools and follow established inventory and material-handling procedures. Professional Skills

- Regularly perform activities that may include sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Occasionally lift and/or move materials weighing more than 50 pounds, with certain tasks involving weights up to 100 pounds.
- Possess the visual abilities necessary to perform assigned duties, including close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Safely operate material-handling equipment and perform assigned warehouse activities. Work Environment
- Regular exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, outdoor weather conditions, electrical hazards, and vibration.
- Noise levels ranging from moderate to loud, depending on the work area and activity.
