Job description

Title: Adjunct Positions in HSS Department: Assistant to Chair Reports To: Administrative Coordinator Position Summary: A national leader in public STEM education, the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is one of three R1 universities in New Jersey and is located in Newark, the largest city in the state and a central hub within the New York City metropolitan area.

NJIT’s Department of Humanities and Social Sciences invites applications for Adjunct Instructors.

Essential Functions

Teach in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences Pre-Requisite Qualifications: Candidates should have a Master’s degree in closely related field. PhD preferred. Key criteria for selection will include experience teaching at the university level and evidence of success working with a student population that reflects the diversity of our metropolitan region.

Compensation

$2668 per contact hour At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position. Range: Period Activity Grade NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, or other items.
