SME Investigator

Conduct field investigations and verification visits for SME clients to validate business operations, financial activities, and overall business credibility. Assess clients’ business premises, inventory, operational capacity, and management practices to ensure alignment with submitted application details. Verify customer information, legal documents, and supporting records to identify discrepancies or potential fraud risks.

Prepare detailed investigation reports summarizing site visit findings, business observations, and risk indicators to support credit decision-making. Coordinate closely with Relationship Managers, Credit Analysts, and Risk teams to gather additional information and clarify investigation findings. Ensure all investigations are completed accurately, objectively, and within agreed turnaround times while maintaining compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in SME investigation, credit operations, field verification, or a related role within banking or financial services. Strong understanding of SME business models, documentation requirements, and risk assessment principles.

Excellent observation, analytical, and report-writing skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct professional client visits and interviews. Ability to identify inconsistencies, potential risks, and fraudulent activities through effective verification and analysis.
