Temp Packer/Laborer

Title: Temp Packer/Laborer Location: Valparaiso, IN Shift: 12-hour shift; 6pm-6am- week 1 (M, Tu, Sat, Sun) Week 2 (W, Th, Fr). (Train on days) Pay: $18.50/hour Job Summary: The Packer/Laborer is responsible for packaging finished products, performing general labor duties, and supporting daily production operations. This position requires someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Package finished products according to company specifications. Inspect products for quality, damage, or defects before packaging. Assemble boxes, cartons, bags, or other packaging materials. Label and properly identify finished products. Stack and organize packaged products in designated areas. Load, unload, move, and stage materials and finished products.

Assist production employees with general labor tasks as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and PPE requirements. Operate basic equipment and tools as trained and authorized. Perform repetitive tasks such as lifting, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.

Report damaged products, equipment issues, or safety concerns to a supervisor. Meet daily production and packaging goals. Perform other duties as assigned. Ability to safely operate forklifts. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent lifting (34 - 66% of the day). Must be able to lift up to 55lbs. repeatedly. Constant standing (66 – 100% of the day).

Frequent overhead reaching (34 - 66% of the day). Constant use of upper extremities, i.e. hands and arms (66 – 100% of the day). Ability to negotiate on grated floors up to three stories high. REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED Previous manufacturing, warehouse, packaging, or general labor experience preferred but not required.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to work in a fast-paced production environment. Prefer the temps to have 8” steel toed boots but will accept 6” steel toed boots. Pre-employment checks are mandatory if you are offered this position (Education, Employment, Background check and Drug Screen).
