• Champaign, IL, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School, Salary Range: $23.16 - $31.84Hourly, Job Shift: 1st Shift, Job Category: Optical, Christie Clinic's department of Ophthalmology is seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Assistant at the Fields clinic from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements. Duties include checking in patients prior to patient seeing provider and performing any pretesting on patient that is needed. Job Qualifications and Expectations: JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.) Check in patients prior to patient seeing provider. Update medical history, check visual acuities and administer eye drops. Maintain exam rooms for necessary supplies and material. Ensure cleanliness. Oversee the sterilization of department instruments along with nursing staff. Assist provider with minor surgeries that are scheduled in office. Perform specialized testing. Review online transcriptions prior to patient appointment and update during appointment as necessary. Perform related work as required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in an Ophthalmic Office Setting Certified Ophthalmic Technician/ Or Certified Nursing Assistant CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: CPR Certification TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a clinical setting with frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
