Site Supervisor for School-Age Child Care

• FREEHOLD, NJ, Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time, Salary Range: $17.00 - $18.50Hourly, The Site Supervisor is responsible for developing and implementing programming for her/his before and after school care site. Program locations are based in Monmouth County elementary schools, including Matawan, Marlboro, Freehold, Manalapan, Colts Neck, Atlantic Highlands, Red Bank, Shrewsbury, Little Silver, Monmouth Beach, West Long Branch, Spring Lake, and Fair Haven. She/he is responsible for the site environment, communicating with parents and students, supervising and directing staff and students. Provides a safe and quality experience to children, members and staff focused on our YMCA core values of caring, honesty, inclusion, respect, and responsibility. Plans, implements, and supervises the school-age curriculum with age- and developmentally- appropriate activities. Supervises and directs the staff and assist in their training as well as monitor their implementation of the curriculum. Develops the weekly schedule, take attendance daily and keep track of student absences. Observes and assesses the individual needs of the children. Is responsible for replenishing/refurbishing equipment, crafts and first aid supplies at your site. Reports to the School Age Director when supplies need reordering. Assure that all activities are in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the YMCA, as well as teaching the YMCA core values. Addresses appropriate parental and behavioral concerns with the School-Age Director. Assists in promotions of programs, vacation camps, and special events. Attends scheduled events to help promote the YMCA, such as Back to School Night and annual Healthy Kids Day. Serves as a liaison to the school personnel, specifically the principal and his/her designee. Handles student-related problems, including behavior problems, recording all incidents. Attends monthly Y-KIDS staff meetings, training programs, necessary PTA meetings, Kindergarten orientations, etc. throughout the year. Knows and ensures that state regulations are maintained at your site. Is responsible for allowed budget at your site, handing in receipts within the month. Creates a monthly calendar of events, with lesson plans, which should be posted with all necessary licensing materials. Any monthly newsletters, or notices, must be handed in to the Y-Kids Regional Coordinator and School Age Director for approval, before distribution each month.

Qualifications

At least 18 years of age BA or BS in Education or a related field, and/or at least 3 years experience in supervision andworking with school-aged children Must be mature, responsible and organized Must have experience in scheduling daily age-appropriate activities and special events. CPR, 1st Aid, Epi-pen, & AED certified, or acquire within 3 months of hire date.
