Connect Through Conversation in Greek or Italian - Community Aged Care
Job description
Find a Latte Joy in Friendship and Football! Do you enjoy good conversation, a great cup of coffee, and helping someone stay connected? We are looking for a friendly Social Volunteer to visit a gentleman for one hour each week and share companionship through regular visits. This gentleman enjoys gardening, keeping an eye on his plants and outdoor spaces, and loves sitting down for a coffee and a chat.
He's also a keen football fan and would enjoy discussing matches, teams, and sporting highlights. He would especially value the company of a volunteer who speaks Greek or Macedonian, allowing him to connect in a familiar language and share stories from his life and culture. Whether you're chatting about football results, gardening tips, family memories, or simply enjoying each other's company over a coffee, your visits can provide meaningful companionship and brighten his week.
No special skills are needed, just a friendly nature, a listening ear, and an hour to share. If you'd like to help a friendship grow, share a coffee, and make a real difference in someone's life, apply today. You could be the perfect match to help make his week a little brighter! 1-hour visits, weekly or fortnightly on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, between 10:00am and 5:00pm.
We're happy to work around your availability. Your impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxFDDi9bS6c Hammond.
