Your Impact in the Classroom You’ll develop individualized learning experiences that address students’ academic, behavioral, and developmental needs while creating a structured environment where learners can build skills and work toward their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will deliver individualized and small-group instruction tailored to each student’s unique abilities, learning needs, and IEP objectives while developing engaging lessons and adapting instructional materials to accommodate diverse learners. You will apply positive behavior supports to encourage student participation and maintain a productive classroom environment.

Additionally, you are responsible for assessing student performance, documenting progress, and sharing updates with families and school administrators. This role requires you to develop measurable IEP goals, coordinate review meetings, monitor implementation, and maintain accurate educational records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Finally, you will work alongside general education teachers, families, administrators, and multidisciplinary support teams to promote holistic student growth and independence.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field. Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills. Previous school-based teaching experience in South Carolina highly preferred. Ability to work effectively with educators, families, and related-service professionals. Valid South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) Special Education teaching certificate.
