Lead, QA & Testing
Job description
American Woodmark is now part of Master. Brand, the largest residential cabinet manufacturer in North America. Together, we offer a comprehensive portfolio of trusted cabinetry brands and products to homeowners, builders, dealers, and retailers. At Master. Brand, our purpose is Building Great Experiences Together. For more than 70 years, our products have helped shape the spaces where people live, gather, and make lasting memories.
The Master. Brand Way guides how we work. It challenges each of us to make the team better, be bold, and champion improvement in everything we do. Our success is driven by talented people who make our products and serve our customers every day. We are committed to providing a safe workplace where associates can learn, contribute, and make an impact.
Come see why joining American Woodmark and Master. Brand is an opportunity to grow your career and help build something great together. The QA & Testing Lead reports directly to the Vice President, PMO, serving as the foundational architect for our IT PMO Quality Assurance capability. As an autonomous, strategic individual contributor, this role owns the end-to-end testing charter: establishing test governance, quality gates, automation frameworks, and toolchains across enterprise initiatives.
You will not just manage testing; you will define how quality is built and verified across enterprise systems, third-party integrations, and digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and roll out the enterprise QA strategy, operating model, and test governance policies from the ground up across the PMO. Quality Gates & Entry/Exit Criteria: Institutionalize consistent quality gates (SIT, UAT, Performance, Regression, Cutover/Hypercare verification) across Waterfall and Agile delivery tracks.
Test Toolchain Architecture: Evaluate, select, and integrate standard enterprise test toolsets (e.g., Jira/Xray, Azure DevOps) into CI/CD pipelines and PMO workflows. UAT & Business Partner Enablement: Establish standardized playbooks, scripts, and defect-severity triage workflows to coach business SME teams through User Acceptance Testing.
Vendor & SI Oversight: Define quality expectations and audit testing deliverables from System Integrators (SIs), outsourced test execution teams, and software vendors. Metrics & Defect Analytics: Establish executive-level quality dashboards tracking defect density, test automation coverage, defect leakage to production, and Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR).
Qualifications
& Experience Experience: 8+ years in software quality assurance, test engineering, or quality architecture, with proven experience building or standardizing testing frameworks across multi-application landscapes. Nature of Role: True individual contributor role requiring both high-level governance strategy and rolling up your sleeves to write test plans, establish baseline scripts, and run initial defect triage.
Technical Breadth: Strong background spanning core enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, supply chain, CRM, integration middleware) and modern API/cloud architectures. Automation & Tools: Deep hands-on knowledge of test management platforms (Jira/Azure DevOps), API testing tools, and modern automated testing engines. Certifications: ISTQB (CTFL/CTAL), CSQE, or relevant test architecture credentials preferred.
The Recruitment process may consist of any combination of phone, video and in person interviews. Offers may be contingent upon successful completion of Background Check, Drug Screen, Physical Examination and/or potential Motor Vehicle Check.
