K.M.Smith Funeral Directors is a Queensland-owned, family-owned funeral director with locations across Brisbane and surrounding suburbs. We have served Brisbane families for over 140 years. The Accounts Officer works in our finance function and reports to the CEO.

About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Accounts Officer to join our team. Key duties will include: Maintaining accurate general ledger accounts and financial records Preparing and issuing client invoices and monthly statements Managing debtor accounts, following up overdue payments and assisting with debt recovery Processing supplier invoices, including checking accuracy, coding and maintaining supplier records Managing payroll and superannuation obligations Reconciling bank accounts and identifying discrepancies Responding to client and supplier enquiries and resolving account discrepancies Supporting month-end processes, financial reporting and general finance administration Managing workers' compensation payments and reconciliations Requirements We are seeking a candidate who: Has several years of bookkeeping experience Has experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable and bank reconciliations Has experience processing payroll and superannuation Has experience using MYOB Has a sound understanding of basic accounting principles Has experience using CRM systems Is proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel Has accurate financial data entry skills Is able to prioritise competing tasks and manage their own time Has experience handling confidential information Is able to work independently and as part of a team Benefits Join a family-owned business with over 140 years of industry experience Flexible working hours To apply, hit 'Apply Now'.
