Class A Vac Truck/Hydro Excavation Operator

Job Title: Class A Vac Truck / Hydro Excavation Operator Position Summary: Arrow Construction is an Underground Utility Contractor specializing in wet and dry utilities, directional drilling, potholing, patch paving, and concrete restoration work throughout Northern California. We are looking for a Class A Vac Truck Excavator Operator who is responsible for safely operating hydro excavation and vacuum truck equipment to expose underground utilities and perform trenching support.

This position requires a valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work in various weather and field conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Operate vacuum excavation trucks and related equipment safely and efficiently. Perform hydro excavation around underground utilities without causing damage. Transport equipment and materials to and from job sites. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Maintain accurate daily logs, DOT records, and job documentation.

Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations. Communicate with supervisors, crew members, and customers on site.

Qualifications

Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with tanker endorsement and clean driving record. Previous experience operating vac trucks and hydro excavation equipment preferred. Knowledge of underground utility safety practices. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor. Strong attendance and reliability.

Ability to work overtime, weekends, and travel as needed.

Preferred Skills

Construction or excavation background. Mechanical aptitude. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. All applicants must have a current CA driver's license with a clean driving record; and be able to pass drug, pre-employment physical, and background tests.
