About the Role
The Dental Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the dental practice and the comfort of patients. This position involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a sterile environment to prevent infection. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for educating patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care, contributing to their overall dental health.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a dental assistant program or equivalent experience. Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in dental assisting (e.g., DA, CDA or RDA). Experience with dental practice management software. Additional training in radiography or infection control.

Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by handing instruments and materials as needed. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment to ensure compliance with infection control protocols. Manage patient records, including scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate treatment documentation.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Monitor and manage inventory of dental supplies to ensure the practice is well-stocked. Skills: The required skills of dental assisting, including knowledge of dental terminology and sterilization techniques, are essential for daily tasks such as preparing for procedures and ensuring a safe environment for patients.
Compassion and effective communication are vital when interacting with patients, helping to alleviate their anxiety and provide clear instructions. Proficiency in body motion is important for assisting the dentist efficiently during procedures, ensuring that instruments are readily available. Familiarity with dental care practices allows the assistant to educate patients effectively, promoting better oral health.
Preferred skills, such as experience with Dentrix, enhance the ability to manage patient records and appointments seamlessly, contributing to the overall efficiency of the dental practice.
