Job description
Description Employee Classification: Part-Time Seasonal (Hourly) Reports To: Incubation Manager Department/Area: Incubation Supervises: None Purpose: Transfer carts to sustain candling production on behalf of Maple Lawn Associates, Inc. (MLA), serving God and Humanity by providing excellent and innovative poultry products for life and health. Essential Responsibilities:
- Move full carts of eggs from incubators to unloaders. Be physically able to move wheeled carts full of eggs and have an understanding of every safety issue with properly handling carts.
- Follow incubator map to determine which carts to move and to anticipate flock changes.
- Disinfect empty carts.
- Utilize proper lockout/tagout procedures to ensure safety for personnel cleaning incubators.
- Load delivery carts into hot holding rooms.
- Pull quality control eggs from each flock for evaluation by Quality Control Technician.
- Assist in cleaning wash bay area at end of day.
- After candling is finished for the day, assist in preparation for the start of next candling day.
- Assist with cleaning egg waste handling system.
- Assist Cooler team with disinfecting farm carts. Other Responsibilities:
- Communicate well with others on the Incubation team. Know that mistakes happen, but recognize the importance of getting the job done correctly. This is vital to getting the final candle out reports completed properly.
- May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Abide by all related SOP and SWI guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Required Personal Attributes:

- Ability to work quickly in a production setting Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED, or working toward high school diploma; no prior experience or training.
- Ability to be on feet for 7+ hours a day.
- Complete support of and willing adherence to Maple Lawn Associates’ mission, vision and core values. Applicant must hold these standards as his/her own.
- Undergo training to understand safety requirements and operating systems of the unloading machines and other machinery. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, safety rules, and correspondence. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information one-on-one and in small group situations to other employees. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret bar graphs.
