Visually checks for safety and fire hazards. De-escalate tense, dynamic, and rapidly evolving situations. Ensures individuals entering the facility are properly screened. Enforces hospital regulations and policies designed to prevent theft and unauthorized access. Conducts safety checks and tests as required by State and Federal laws for a hospital.

Patrols parking areas periodically, leaving warning notices on automobiles in violation of parking regulations. Checks fire and emergency lanes to insure they are clear at all times. Supports the Deaconess Health Police Department objectives for creating a safe environment. Assists with patient restraint when necessary.

Directs visitors and answers questions relative to location of services. Responds to fire emergency calls, assists police, fire, and emergency management teams. Provides parking lot assistance to staff and guests. Supports hospital departmental policies, procedures and mission statements. Attends staff meetings and in-services.

Successfully completes all required hospital training.

What You Will Need

Desire individual who have had experience with interacting with the public, providing information and directives to ensure safety for our visitors, patients and employees. Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors, react calmly and effectively in emergency situations and work independently. Prior security experience desired yet not required.
