Windows Engineer

Bay. Nova is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Windows Engineer to join our team in support of a mission-critical federal government client in a remote / work from home role. Job Description: Administering and troubleshooting on a large-scale enterprise Windows environment, to include all supported subsystems and 3rd party applications.

Planning, Design, Implementation, and Troubleshooting of everything on the Windows server and workstation platforms. Add improvements and efficiency to current processes Provide consistent customer service Be part of a 24x7 “on-call” engineering team with availability on n ights and/or weekends for troubleshooting, maintenance, and any other special circumstances Required Skills: 7+ years of related experience Expert level experience in Power.

Shell scripting, in order to demonstrate an ability to automate routine tasks for daily operations and maintenance Expert level skillset in Microsoft technologies including IIS, MSSQL and Active Directory Must be highly skilled and proficient in problem solving and able to follow a systematic troubleshooting approach—very strong troubleshooting skills required Methodical approach to change execution and implementation Demonstrated understanding of TCP/IP Excellent communication skills in working with technical and non-technical people and the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships among all levels of an organization Ability to obtain a Position of Trust Clearance 24x7 On-call rotation for afterhours support Desired: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in computer related fields, technical certifications related to responsibilities, or equivalent professional experience Familiarity with common frameworks, languages and server technologies used to develop large-scale applications Experience with Microsoft C# programming language Experience designing and supporting highly available application infrastructure Knowledge of networking concepts and services with ability to troubleshoot (DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL, TLS, SFTP, routing, switching, firewalls) Sound knowledge of Windows and VMware HA environments including VMware HA/DRS/SRM Understanding of SAN to server connectivity including within Net.

App and EMC platforms Experience and comfort with hosted/cloud based solutions
