Job description
Work Flexibility: Remote Join Stryker’s Surgical Technologies business unit, where you will work alongside innovators and inventors bringing digital technology to the operating room and other healthcare settings. You will help build core technologies that improve patient and caregiver safety and efficiency, across platforms ranging from mobile apps, cloud services, and SDKs to embedded systems and edge devices.
We are looking for a Senior Principal Cloud Developer to build systems and applications in a cloud-native (Azure) environment. You will design, develop, and maintain complex software that integrates with AI and machine learning technologies. You bring depth across multiple languages, frameworks, and technologies, a strong command of software engineering best practices, and a collaborative approach to delivering high-quality solutions.
What you will do
Design, develop, and maintain complex, high-performance, scalable full-stack applications and cloud services. Partner with data scientists, AI researchers, mobile developers, and AI/ML engineers to gather requirements, define scope, and align work with business goals. Help select, evaluate, and adopt software technologies, tools, and frameworks in a cloud-native (Azure) environment.
Integrate AI and ML capabilities into production systems, including model-serving, data pipelines, and monitoring. Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues to keep applications performant and reliable. Build secure, observable, and resilient systems, with attention to the regulatory and quality expectations of healthcare software.
Contribute to planning and estimation, helping allocate resources and deliver on time. Write and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, API documentation, and user guides. Mentor engineers and help set technical standards, including responsible use of AI-assisted development practices. What you need Required Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, and 10+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Strong knowledge of multiple programming languages, such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#. Experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js. Solid understanding of back-end frameworks such as Node.js, Django, or Spring Boot. Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases and ORM tools.
Knowledge of AI and ML concepts, technologies, and integration techniques. Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and agentic development tools to improve code quality, speed, and test coverage, along with sound judgment in reviewing and validating AI-generated code. Experience with Git-based version control (such as GitLab) and work-tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or ARM/Bicep templates.
