Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, the Staff Accountant plays a hands-on role in leading daily accounting operations, month-end close procedures, reconciliations, and financial reporting. We are looking for a detail-oriented, energetic professional who can start right away and grow within our dynamic real estate environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle AP operations with high accuracy and timeliness. General Ledger & Journal Entries: Post daily journal entries, maintain ledger accounts, and keep financial records up to date. Reconciliations: Perform monthly balance sheet, bank, and credit card reconciliations to promptly identify and resolve discrepancies.

Month-End Close: Assist with accruals, adjustments, and compiling financial statements. Audits & Compliance: Gather documentation for internal and external auditors and support tax return preparation. Analysis & Budgeting: Track departmental expenses, run variance analyses, and assist with forecasting. Required Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience: 1 to 3 years of general accounting experience (or an entry-level transition from bookkeeping). Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. Strong Excel capabilities (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP). Working knowledge of GAAP and automated reconciliation software. Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strict time management under recurring deadlines, and strong cross-functional communication skills.
