POSITION: Supervisor of School Safety and Security (Armed) EFFECTIVE DATE: TBD QUALIFICATIONS: Retired in good standing as a full-time, fully trained New Jersey municipal, county or State law enforcement officer; supervisory rank (sergeant or above) preferred Current Retired Police Officer (RPO) permit to carry under N.

J.S.A. 2C:39-6(l), including semi-annual firearms qualification NJ Police Training Commission Basic Police Officer certification (or NJ State Police Academy) Experience in emergency management, threat assessment or school security preferred Ability to schedule, train, supervise and evaluate staff Valid New Jersey driver's license Required criminal history background check and proof of eligibility to work in the United States REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools or School Safety Specialist JOB GOAL: To lead the district's school safety and security program so that every building has a trained, scheduled and accountable security presence, current emergency plans and a working partnership with law enforcement.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise, schedule and deploy all School Safety Officers across district buildings, including absences, ESY and after-hours events Train and evaluate security staff and keep each officer's permit, qualifications and certifications current Serve on the district's threat assessment and school safety teams Oversee access control, visitor management, key audits and security camera monitoring Serve as incident commander or support the incident commander during emergencies, including reunification Serve as the district's day-to-day liaison to the Berkeley Township Police Department, County Prosecutor and emergency management Serve as the armed security presence in a building when needed and be on call for district emergencies Prepare the annual security budget request and track security spending TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Month (260 days), salaried DEADLINE FOR APPLYING: November 1, 2026
