Deputy Surveyor

Goodhue County is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Deputy Surveyor (Licensed or non-licensed) . The primary objective of this position is to assist in the supervision of the perpetuation of the Public Land Survey System for the County. The Deputy is responsible for the supervision, organization, and implementation of the Global Positioning System's (GPS) use for the countywide survey control point network, collection of PLS corners, and vertical and horizontal control for Highway projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid background in surveying, and experience with GPS technologies. Types of work: Preforms land surveying functions as a Licensed Land Surveyor which involves field work, research, mathematical analysis, writing land descriptions, etc. Manages the implementation of the Global Positing System (GPS) for us in collecting or staking out survey information This is a brief summary of the job function.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in land surveying, or related field, and three years of experience in land surveying or related field. Experience in working independently as well as leading a survey team and/or technicians. Licensed applicants: This position requires a Minnesota Licensed Land Surveyor and two years of experience as a Licensed Land Surveyor.

Compensation

& Benefits County employees receive competitive pay and a generous benefit offering. The Deputy Surveyor (non licensed) is compensated at salary grade 116 ($90,230- $139,859). The Deputy Surveyor (licensed) is compensated at salary grade 117 ($94,764 - $146,868). Starting pay will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
