JOB SUMMARY
The Team Lead will provide leadership and direction to assigned employees. Ensure safe and effective use of employees, equipment, and supplies to meet required schedules at minimum cost and proper quality. Assist site Supervise/Operations Manager to train employees on all site-specific operations necessary to service the customer in accordance with all AAR, FRA, OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations.
These are including but not limited to safety, employee development and continuous improvement to all processes supporting activities at all locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop & maintain a highly engaged workforce with consistent recognition of meeting a high-performance standard
- Meet objectives for safety, quality, and profitability through effective management techniques
- Schedule employees appropriately to meet customer requirements while keeping overtime at a minimum
- Meet all required administrative reporting, budgeting and compliance reporting for all safety and quality directives
- Maintain adequate inventory levels of all operational supplies and specific parts needed to service your customer
- Positive outreach with the customer to build partnership on common goals of safety, education and leadership
- Willingness to be available 24/7 for site support and travel up to 75% of the time if needed
- Other duties as assigned PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to climb in and out of a large truck.
- Ability to climb ladders on a railcar.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend crouch for extended periods of time.
- Ability to wear all required PPE at all times while on the job.
- Ability to travel up to 50% maybe asked ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Exposure on a regular basis to all outdoor weather conditions.
- Exposure to dust from various grains, fertilizers and minerals.
- Exposure to exhaust from trucks.
- Exposure to heights with aid of fall arrest system.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years supervisory/management experience preferred
- First aid and CPR certified required
- Excellent leadership, customer service and communication skills
- Individuals must have high levels of mechanical aptitude
- Railcar industry experience a plus
- Good organizational and paperwork skills
- Intermediate proficiency at E-mail, Microsoft Excel, and Word
- Equipment operating experience preferred
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, ability to obtain a Medical Card, and meet the Holland Vehicle Fleet Policy
