Housekeeping Manager

AKA Hotels+Hotel Residences is hiring for a Housekeeping Manager for Hotel AKA Nomad! The Housekeeping Manager of is responsible for supporting planning, organizing, and monitoring staff workload to meet cleanliness and maintenance standards, developing and managing budgets, conducting inventory, and utilizing labor management tools.

Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, the Housekeeping Manager will support the team through hiring, training, and performance management, maintaining a positive guest-centric approach. Team Member Responsibilities: Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive departmental brand standard operating processes, policies and procedures Perform daily walks of all areas of responsibility throughout the property and meticulous attention to detail are implemented and experienced by both guests and team members.

Ensure all housekeeping team members are in compliance at all times with the image requirements and are well presented. Recruit, interview and train new housekeeping team members and work with local partnerships for potential housekeeping candidates Assure effective operation of the Laundry and/ or outsourcing of laundry operation.

Assist the department when needed. Schedule detailed cleaning and preventive maintenance programs relating to housekeeping to ensure a timeless appearance and life of all furniture, fixtures and equipment throughout the property. Assure the financial goals of the department are being met. Monitor and control labor expense and other departmental expenses such as uniforms, linen, amenities, supplies and contract services.

Maintain accurate inventory records such as linen, uniform and amenity supply inventories, inventory par stocks, discard reports, movement of inventory stock items, tools and the distribution of products. Maintain and expand a positive working relationship with existing and new vendor relationships. Ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained to support daily housekeeping operations and business needs.

Review daily occupancy, arrivals, departures, stayovers, and operational requirements to determine staffing needs. Assign daily tasks and room assignments to Room Attendants and Housepersons.Adjust staffing and assignments as necessary based on occupancy, call-outs. Complete all required housekeeping administrative tasks accurately and within established deadlines Prepare, maintain, and submit daily/weekly productivity reports.

Required Skills

& Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 1 year experience in a Housekeeping Manager role. Demonstrates energetic, self-motivating and a “can do” positive attitude. Projects a professional and polished image that inspires confidence and trust.

Is team-oriented and works collaboratively to achieve team goals. Meticulous attention to detail. Able to always manage multiple tasks and have excellent organizational skills. Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with meticulous attention to detail. Dedicated to exceeding quality standards and providing products and services of the highest caliber.

Self-motivated; thrives on doing a job well; possesses the independence, initiative, and desire to achieve. Command of the English language both written and verbal. Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, email, and other standard computer applications. Accurately enter, organize, track, and retrieve information using computer systems.

Utilize hotel/property management systems and housekeeping-related software as required. Knowledge of Union contract and regulations.
