Job description

Status: under 29 hours/week Location: 1111 W. Washington St. West Bend, WI 53095 Wage: $22/class Benefit Package Including : Free Y Membership; Program Discounts including Child Care, School Age Care, and Day Camp Hours: Daytime (morning) availability needed most. Evenings and weekend availability is helpful too. We offer classes that energize, challenge, and connect members of all backgrounds.

As an instructor, you’ll be the heartbeat of the class, inspiring members to move, grow, and thrive together. Classes include: BODYPUMP BODY COMBAT BODYBALANCE Les Mills CORE Les Mills GRIT RPM If you are interested in leading one of these high-energy classes but don't have a certification, then we can help! You can find available trainings (including virtual options) by selecting a program, then browsing the listings HERE .

Initial training costs between $349 and $399, depending on the timing of registration. You have 30 days from training to film a full-length class in front of participants and submit for final certification. We will help you with co-teaching and filming opportunities along your certification journey.

POSITION SUMMARY

I nstructs group classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group fitness classes, as directed by the supervisor. Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA. Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living; maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.

Teaches at least one group fitness class per pay period, unless your supervisor states otherwise. Adhere to the Code of Conduct and policies within the Child Abuse Prevention handbook. Accurately assesses personal feelings, strengths and limitations and how they impact relationships. Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent. Certification in Les Mills formats listed above. We can connect you to training if you are not currently certified. At least one year of experience teaching group fitness classes preferred. Able to motivate and encourage individuals through positive attitudes and enthusiasm. Must possess valid driver’s license.

Experience with diverse populations, varying ages, knowledge and abilities. CERTIFICATIONS:
